Extravagant wedding have become a norm in Pakistan and an occasion to display wealth. Whatever the elites do becomes a societal trend and unfortunately Pakistan’s rich classes are guilty of promoting tasteless pomp and show on such social occasions. A wedding needs to be a private, family affair and it is time that we all discourage such practices. There are thousands of households who take heavy loans to purchase dowries and entertain guests on big weddings. When will this change?

Here we are reproducing this bizarre story of another tasteless wedding, thanks Dunya TV.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday issued notices to the families of a bride and groom in Multan for spendthrift on their wedding.

FBR has sought the details of the families’ assets and tax payments.

Moreover, a stern legal action will be taken against them if the reply is not submitted till March 24.

The wedding ceremony comprised of 15000 guests whereas the bride’s family gave dowry to her worth Rs5 crore.

In a bizarre move, the groom arrived at his wedding while sitting on a lion’s cage with the animal inside it.
